Offer Description
Applications are open 1 Research Studentship for Master or Integrated Master Students, within the framework of project/1801P.01515 - StreamWater, in the institution IST-ID, reference n.º 2024.07282.IACDC/2024, apoiado pela medida “RE-C05-i08.M04 – “Apoiar o lançamento de um programa de projetos de I&D orientado para o desenvolvimento e implementação de sistemas avançados de cibersegurança, inteligência artificial e ciência de dados na administração pública, bem como de um programa de capacitação científica”, do Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência – PRR, enquadrado no contrato de financiamento celebrado entre a Estrutura de Missão Recuperar Portugal (EMRP) e a Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia I.P. (FCT)
Workplan: Development of mathematical models and their computational implementation for an analysis using advanced time series methodologies of flow measurement.
Duration: The research fellowship(s) will have a duration of 5 months. It’s expected to begin in August 2025 and may be renewed up to the maximum of 24 months, including the duration of the initial contract.

Benefits
Monthly maintenance allowance: According to the values for Research Fellowships awarded by FCT in Portugal (https://www.fct.pt/fct-atualizou-o-valor-das-bolsas-para-2025/), the amount of the monthly maintenance allowance is € 1040,98, being the payment method of the Fellow by wire transfer.
Eligibility criteria
Admission Requirements: To be enrolled in a master's program, preferably in Applied Mathematics and Computing, in Engineering and Data Science, or in a related field.
Selection process
Selection methods: The selection methods will be the following: (i) average grade of the bachelor’s and master’s degrees (60%); (ii) experience in participating in data analysis projects (20%); (iii) letter of motivation (20%). If necessary, an individual interview may be conducted which will calculate the arithmetic average with the previous curricular component.
Composition of the selection Jury: : Prof.ª Maria da Conceição Esperança Amado (president), Prof.ª Isabel Maria Alves Rodrigues (member), Prof.º Paulo José de Jesus Soares (member).
Announcement/ notification of the results: The final evaluation results will be communicated to all applicants by email.
Deadlines and procedures of complaint and appeal. A complaint may be lodged from the final decision within 15 working days, or an appeal to the Executive Board of IST-ID within 30 working days, both counted from the respective notification.
