EURAXESS Sweden (former Mobility Centre Sweden) and its portal give on-line information and practical assistance for researchers coming to and from Sweden.

A national network of Swedish universities, research institutions and the business community has been formed in order to provide researchers with the best possible assistance. In Sweden it was decided to have only one EURAXESS Centre, like in other Nordic countries, whereas in Europe it is common to have several centres  in each country. All European centres are part of the network EURAXESS  and follow the EURAXESS Services Commitment.

Today Euraxess Sweden has a steering group with representatives from the Swedish Council for Working Life and Social Research (FAS), the Swedish Research Council Formas, the Swedish Research Council and VINNOVA. The Swedish Mobility Centre was initiatlly partly funded from the 6th Framework programme of the European Commission. At that time the cooperation was between three Swedish governmental bodies: VINNOVA, the Swedish Research Council, and particularly the national web portal forskning.se and the Swedish Institute that operates the site sweden.se.
